Mushrooms, grown
on autopilot

I’m building SokoOS for home growers: a sensor box and an app that switch your tent’s humidifier, heater and fans to hold each mushroom’s recipe.

A grow fails in the hours you aren’t looking. SokoOS checks your tent every 15 seconds and switches the appliances to put it right.

A check every 15 seconds

This is the dashboard I’m building, holding a Blue Oyster tent on day 3 of fruiting. Tap an appliance to take it over.

Appliances

Tap an appliance to switch it: Auto, then On, then Off.

  1. Read

Sensors in the tent measure temperature, humidity and CO2.

  2. Compare

Autopilot holds each reading against your strain’s recipe for the day it’s on.

  3. Switch

It turns appliances on or off to close the gap. You can override any of them.

Inside the app

The dashboard is free and stays free. Autopilot is free while it’s in beta, and I’ll tell the waitlist before that changes.

Every reading is inside its limits. Alerts go by Email and SMS.

  • Set a low and high limit for each reading
  • Get an email, SMS or WhatsApp message when the tent goes outside them
  • Turn each channel on or off
  • Alarms go into the log too

Before you sign up

The kitWhat’s in the box?

A controller with temperature, humidity and CO2 sensors, a four-channel relay (one channel per appliance), and the app. You connect the humidifier, heater and fans you already own.

StrainsWhich mushrooms can I grow?

Blue Oyster and Lion’s Mane come with recipes. For anything else, you write the recipe: days, temperature, humidity and CO2 for each stage.

ControlCan I take over by hand?

Yes. Set any appliance to On or Off from the dashboard. Autopilot asks you to confirm first, and Auto hands control back.

AlertsWill I know if something goes wrong?

You get an email, SMS or WhatsApp message when a reading leaves the range you set. That gives you time to refill the humidifier or fix the heater before the grow suffers.

PriceHow much is it, and when does it ship?

I don’t know yet. SokoOS is a working prototype, and I’ll email the price and ship date to the waitlist first. Your answer to the price question after you sign up helps me set it.

SubscriptionIs there a subscription?

Not for the basics. The dashboard and switching appliances from your phone stay free. Autopilot is free during the beta, and I’ll tell the waitlist before that changes.

Ask meSomething I didn’t answer?

Tell me about your setup or ask about the kit. I read and answer these myself.
